It is said that no hole at Mayacoo Lakes will penalize a good shot nor force a layup. This is the result of the thinking of Jack Nicklaus who, with Desmond Muirhead, designed the course. Built on level land 6,906-yards from the back tees, the routing packs much of its punch into the thirteen holes that feature water hazards. Stands of melaleuca trees, pine and palm trees line most fairways.
Mayacoo Lakes has hosted the PGA Club Professional Series, the Eastern Seniors, and several state and local events and the best scores are seldom below the par of 71. Kipp Schulties Golf Design, Inc. completed a redesign and rebuild of Mayacoo's layout which reopened in December of 2007. Under Kipp's watchful eye, his team remastered and revitalized this awesome venue and continued the legend that is Mayacoo.
The clubhouse is the center of social activity at the club, offering fine dining in a casually elegant setting. Facilities include the main dining room, grill room, lounge, and an outdoor patio area overlooking the manicured practice facility. Members also enjoy tennis courts, a champion-sized swimming pool as well as a great undercover patio for kids.
