Medalist Golf Club is home to an 18-hole golf course in Hobe Sound, Florida, that provides an exceptional golfing experience paying homage to the finest traditions of the game. This respect for golf's heritage and, above all, for the experience of pure golf, was the driving force behind the design of the course itself.
The Medalist layout was originally developed by Greg Norman and designed in collaboration with Pete Dye. Renovations to the course were made in 2015 by Bobby Weed and MacCurrach Golf Construction.
This comprehensive, sympathetic renovation, added length, returned stacked sod walls to the bunkers, and brought back the original low-profile style of the green complexes.
The renovation resulted in a 7,571-yard layout that is one of the sternest tests of golf in the country. As a result, many former and current PGA Tour and LPGA Tour players are members of Medalist Golf Club, utilizing the well-conditioned par 72 golf course as their practice facility and training ground to further hone their skills. The course now reflects and enhances its natural surroundings and presents an exceptional variety of shots, especially around the greens, and its personality can change dramatically with varying wind conditions.
With its dark wood beams and comfortable furnishings, the clubhouse is warm, rustic, and inviting. It is the social hub where members and their guests can dine after a round, visit the wellness spa or step onto the veranda and enjoy a drink overlooking the Medalist's unique golf course. The nearby Medalist Village also offers a fully-equipped fitness center, spa and tennis courts, and its own 12-hole par 3 golf course.
