The National Golf Links of America is a prestigious links-style golf course in Southampton, New York. Located on Long Island between Shinnecock Hills Golf Club and Peconic Bay this private club features an 18-hole course covering 253 acres and is considered one of the most exclusive in America.

Curiously, although the par 72 courses are noted for hosting the initial Walker Cup in 1922, which only returned in 2013, it has never hosted a major men's championship.

The National was founded in 1908 under the leadership of Charles B. Macdonald with the assistance of Southampton engineer, Seth Raynor. After studying many of the courses in Scotland and England, Macdonald set out to build a first-class course in the United States which would incorporate many of the better qualities of golf courses in the British Isles.

Many of the holes along the 6,873-yard (6,285-metre) length of the National Golf Links were patterned from famous golf courses in the British Isles and adapted to fit the local setting. Among the famous holes represented at the National are the Road Hole and Eden from St. Andrews, the Alps from Prestwick, Redan from North Berwick, and Sahara from Sandwich.

Golfers playing at the National Golf Links will find both motorized carts as well as caddies available and there is also a driving range and practice green near the Pro shop. The clubhouse is a beautiful historic building that offers a bar and restaurant as well as on-course accommodation.

Course Architects: C.B. Macdonald, Robert Trent Jones, Jr., Robert Trent Jones, Sr., Seth Raynor, and  Perry Maxwell
