The Orange Blossom Hills Golf and Country Club features the oldest 18-hole championship course in The Villages. With mature and majestic trees, quaint bridges and low, rolling hills, the Orange Blossom Hills course is paradise, and history rolled into one.
Golfers should not let the relatively short length of the layout lull them into complacency, as many holes demand accuracy off the tee with various clubs. In addition, the nine-hole Orange Blossom Hills Golf and Country Club, Citrus Hill Course has small greens that put a premium on precise iron play. Putting can also be challenging due to the many subtle breaks on the greens.
Orange Blossom Hills was the first championship course installed in The Villages and remains a popular draw for residents and visiting players alike. Ask golfers what first comes to mind about the former watermelon farm turned 18-hole course, and one will often hear “shot making.”
Orange Blossom is the shortest championship trek The Villages has to offer and plays 6,198-yards from the back tees, but its narrow fairways and the older trees adorning the course make for a challenging round that requires players to be accurate from the tee to the green.
While Orange Blossom is the oldest championship course at The Villages, the course underwent a major renovation in 2014 that included updates to its irrigation system, greens complexes and bunkers, as well as improvements to the clubhouse, restaurant and pool – which, sitting atop a hill on Water Tower Circle, make up one of the highest elevation points in The Villages.
Orange Blossoms Hills Golf Course, Citrus Grove Course, is home to the newly redesigned and historic Orange Blossom Hills Country Club Restaurant. The restaurant provides an eclectic menu of mouthwatering recipes taken from all of The Villages restaurants and brought to Orange Blossom Hills, along with some that are exclusive to Orange Blossom. The club also offers the Villagers its own Pro shop, a practice facility, driving range, putting green, pitching and chipping area, and a golf course academy.
