Located on Bribie Island, off the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, Pacific Harbour Golf and Country Club opened on April 1st, 2006 to impressive reviews.
The Ross Watson designed island links course quickly became a 'must play' course of South East Queensland and is currently ranked number seven in Queensland and number 51 in Australia for Best Public Access Course.
All the key characteristics of a world-class, 18 hole course have been incorporated, including a great layout that tracks the terrain naturally; a challenging design; and memorable holes. All this is framed by beautiful landscaping which emulates the unique coastal forest environment on Bribie Island.
Based on traditional Scottish links courses, Pacific Harbour uses the mix and arrangement of hazards, the distinct contouring of greens, and the strategic layout of bunkers to make each hole visually distinctive. The design features two nine-hole loops, a number of island greens, both formal and beach bunkers, and 25 reflective lakes.
The 6,339-metre, par 72, design incorporates a number of island greens and extensive natural flora to create a walk or cart course that is not only visually stunning but also extremely playable by golfers of all levels.
An aquatic driving range and two putting greens are available for golfers to warm up. The clubhouse facilities provide an excellent bar and bistro and can cater to functions and events.
