Founded in 1916, the Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club are one of Tampa's premier 18-hole golf courses, offering the best of what the sport has to offer combined with the rich traditions of one of the oldest private golf clubs in Florida. This par 70 layout has been graced by some of golf’s greatest players – among them Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Walter Hagen, and Babe Zaharias.
Since 1956, Palma Ceia has played host to the Gasparilla Invitational, one of the most prestigious national amateur golf tournaments in the United States. Measuring 6,211 yards from the longest tees, this layout is more than just a golf course with cart rental services. The club also provides excellent practice facilities, including a driving range, a pitching area, and putting green, plus access to teaching professionals for all ages and skill levels.
The Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club have a fitness center, Olympic-sized swimming pool, clay tennis courts, and multiple food and beverage offerings, combined with a year-round social calendar, which makes this an ideal private golf and country club. In 2012, the country club renovated its golf course with the help of acclaimed golf course architect Bobby Weed.
In 2009, Palma Ceia renovated the clubhouse’s south building bringing to its membership a new golf Pro shop, fitness facility, extended pool deck, and a beautiful structure that will make every experience at the club one to remember. A year later, Palma Ceia renovated its tennis Pro shop and court facilities enhancing the tennis membership experience. And, in 2014, the club further renovated its casual dining facility providing the membership with a traditional family dining experience with a modern twist.
