Pompano Beach Municipal Golf Course features two publicly accessible 18-hole golf courses located in the heart of Pompano Beach, Florida. The recently redesigned and renovated 18-hole Greg Norman Signature Pines Course opened on January 1, 2013, to rave reviews while the older Palms Course continues to cater to a loyal following of golfers who have enjoyed the layout for over half a century.
Originally built under the guidance of golf course architects Bruce Devlin and Robert von Hagge in 1960, the parkland-style par 71 Palms Course is well maintained with recently replaced greens. Surrounded by woodland this is the closest to the beach of Pompano Beach's two championship layouts.
Although the fairways of the Palms' 6,280-yard layout are reasonably wide and fairly friendly there are still plenty of hazards that can catch out the unwary or overly ambitious. Fortunately, Pompano Beach Municipal Golf Course has plenty of practice facilities for players looking to perfect their swing. With a driving range, short game, and chipping area as well as a putting green, golfers can work on any aspect of their game.
Memberships are available for those wishing to call Pompano Beach home and both they and daily-fee players can relax after a round in Galuppi's Restaurant. There is also a fully stocked Pro-shop on site that can assist with any apparel or equipment needs and Pompano Beach Municipal can host golfing events and has function facilities available.
