Prairie Dunes Country Club is a private 18-hole golf course located just outside Hutchinson, Kansas. The center of the United States might be the last place anyone would expect to find a links-style course with rolling hills reminiscent of the seaside courses of Scotland. But that is what makes Prairie Dunes a Kansas treasure and a unique opportunity for golfers.

The club was founded by Emerson Carey and his four sons in the mid-1930s and the course was designed by Perry Maxwell with the first nine holes opened on September 13th, 1937. Twenty years later in 1957 a further nine holes were opened designed by Press Maxwell, Perry's son. Frequently ranked among the best golf courses in the United States, Prairie Dunes 6,947-yard layout has since hosted several United States Golf Association national championship tournaments.

Before venturing onto Prairie Dunes' challenging par 70 layout players can warm up on the driving range, chipping area, and the putting green. The club offers numerous other amenities to its members including indoor and outdoor tennis courts, pickleball courts, a fitness center, and a swimming pool.

The Prairie Dunes clubhouse was rated the Most Beautiful Clubhouse in Kansas by Architectural Digest in 2017. The panoramic views of the course from the restaurant's dining rooms immerse members and their guests in the picturesque sandhills that define Prairie Dunes while the bar offers the perfect spot to watch as other golfers tee off on the back nine or finish their play on 18th green.
