Twenty-five minutes from Sydney's epicenter and cradled by the Garigal National Park is Pymble Golf Club. In Australia's top 100, it has a feel and golfing experience of its own due to its fantastic landscape.

The first impressions of Pymble are a statement; a visual spectacle and a reminder of some of Scotland's pioneering courses. With a dam near the 16th hole, gardens, and well over 2000 trees, lorikeets, rosellas, Kookaburras, geese, and rare black swans casually coast across the course. Enviable homesteads dot the perimeter and sit hiding behind the curves and valleys of each hole.

These heavy undulations that abound the course are rare for an Australian parkland course and flavor a unique character to Pymble. Players boasting a good rise and fall, fade, and at times chip shops will be flattered by the play. Medium-large greens are at each hole, opening up the putting game to all players.

The two notable holes are 5 at the front and 16 at the back. Hole 5 doglegs right with a par 4, but shot selection is important. A tidy fade or powerful long iron or fairway wood from the tee is integral when making something from this hole, especially with a rolling green. The 16th is the feature hole - dog legs, two water carriers, bunkers across the fairway, and a creek in front of the green look as challenging as it is to play.

Pymble Golf Club boasts a rare combination of tranquility and elegance and some of Sydney's most uniquely designed holes. With its proximity to Australia's busiest CBD, it is well worth it around.
