The Quail West Golf and Country Club Lakes Course is a private layout and aptly named due to its generous water features on 16 of the 18 holes. Arthur Hills and Drew Rogers have thoughtfully designed the routing to present players with very generous fairways off the tees. Established in 1993, the par 72 golf course demands great shots from players. To finish a round, they’ll have to choose the best club or just be lucky enough to hit the holes. Since water is a huge factor in playing at this 7,041-yard layout, golfers should be wary in almost every hole.
The mid-length par-4 typifies itself as a good starting hole, extending to players a “gentle handshake” to begin the round. There is a lot of room off the tee, but those who favor the left side, near the fairway bunker, will be rewarded with a favorable angle of approach into the green. After challenging holes, golfers will find the 10th hole called the ‘breather,’ which is a short par 4 with plenty of room off the tee where the birdie shot is always the goal.
A driving range is near the greens for practice rounds before the actual game, where they can also ask for cart rentals and club rentals.
