A beautiful and well-maintained layout for literally all handicaps, the Redfish Run Executive Golf Course is a 9-hole private routing inside the friendly retirement neighborhood of The Villages in southwest Florida. The par 28 Redfish Run layout features both easy holes and challenging ones, where golfers face tricky shots to avoid water hazards and other obstacles.
Out of the nine holes at Redfish Run, golfers say there are three easy holes, three semi-challenging holes, and three very challenging holes. There is one par four that plays over 400-yards from the back tee – arguably the longest par four of all The Villages Executive Golf Trail’s 40+ routings. As they travel through the course, player experience a mixture of elevation changes, beautiful oak trees, and natural wildlife in the surrounding water basins.
Although the 1,632-yard Redfish Run Executive Golf Course may be intimidating for some, the routing has fewer bunkers than many nearby layouts. The condition of the greens has also been constant since its opening in 2009, providing players with consistent average speed each game.
Designed by Clifton, Ezell and Clifton, the course design firm for nearly all golf courses in The Villages, the Redfish Run Executive Golf Course is friendly to all, especially with the presence of its putting green for beginners who might need more time to practice. Rental carts and clubs are available for casual players, while regulars with their own golf cart can purchase a trail pass for a nominal fee.

The golf villas enjoy equally attractive, if slightly more modestly proportioned landscaping.
Most golf homes in the community have exteriors finished in neutral colors. On the inside, residents have plenty of space with open two and three-bedroom floor plans. Built from 2010 onwards, many resale golf homes at Buttonwood and Tamarind Grove have benefitted from recent updates to their interior stylings.
For golf enthusiast, the Southern Star Executive Golf Course is the closest of several, while the Jacaranda championship course, originating from the Cane Garden Country Club, wanders through the neighborhood as well. Alternatively, the Sterling Heights Village Recreation Center and the Seabreeze Regional Recreation Center offer plenty of other indoor and outdoor activities for those who like to stay active.
