Located close to Orlando, the Reunion Resort and Golf Club, Watson Course is a beautiful and well-maintained 18-hole private layout. This par 72 routing in Kissimmee, Florida, surrounds most of the resort and is one of three great options for resort guests, as well as club members looking for casual play.
Measuring 7,154-yards from the longest tees, the layout formerly known as The Independence Course at Reunion Resort, was built in 2004 and designed by the highly respected course architect Tom Watson. With wide-open greens, rolling fairways, and strategically placed bunkers, this par 72 layout calls for well-calculated play for golfers of all skill levels, putting a premium on a solid short game.
Significant landscaping and generous fairways make the Watson Course an ideal ground for beginners as well as seasoned veterans who want to test their skills. One of the iconic holes in the course is the 15th, a medium-length par 3 that requires a significantly uphill shot. The prevailing wind is usually against the player and will often cause shots to end up short or in the right front bunker. Here, an extra club is recommended more often than not.
Meanwhile, on the penultimate 17th hole accuracy is the key and only an arrow straight shot avoids the many bunkers and native grasses that outline this hole. The green is also narrow, deep, and features many subtle breaks.
At the Reunion Resort and Golf Club anything a golfer needs is available. From top-notch customer service to a wide array of practice facilities including a driving range, chipping greens, and putting greens, as well as the finest golf instruction team.
Not just the golf experience, the Reunion Resort is highly acclaimed due to its on-site restaurants and function venues ideal for intimate gatherings and events. Shopping at the Pro shop can also be a fun way to spend time when not out on one of the Reunion Resort and Golf Club’s three magnificent golf courses.
