The Royal Adelaide Golf Club is located in Adelaide's western suburbs, less than a 20-minutes drive from the city center and less than two kilometers from the coast. This private and members-only 18-hole links-style course is widely acknowledged as ranking with the best in Australia.

The links at Royal Adelaide have been the venue for many international and interstate matches and championships and the Club has hosted nine Open Championships of Australia and sixteen Amateur Championships of Australia. The Australian Ladies Amateur and Open Championships have also been played over the links.

Despite many alterations made since the first blow was struck in 1906, the par 72 course retains much of the distinctive character of its original Dr.Alister MacKenzie-inspired design. The layout, of a comparatively open links-style, an attribute by no means common in Australia, has been maintained since Dr. MacKenzie's visit in 1926. It is this character that members and their visitors alike recognize as a priceless asset in a golf course situated so close to a capital city.

Taken as a whole, the 6,557-metre long Seaton course, with its wide-open spaces, poses more problems than appearing at first sight, except under the most benign conditions. Most members are more than happy to complete their round having played to their handicaps.

The clubhouse has a pro shop and offers a professional caddy service as well as a full range of practice facilities to its members. There are excellent bar and dining choices at Royal Adelaide and their function center can cater to large events.
