The Royal Poinciana Golf Club, Cypress Course, is the sister layout of Pines Course in Naples, Florida. This 18-hole routing was designed by David Wallace in 1970 and later redesigned by Arthur Hills and Drew Rogers.

This par 72-course measures 6,405 yards from the longest tees and has noticeably narrower fairways. Mature cypress trees beautifully frame the course, and its lakes and ponds teem with native plants and wildlife. Due to the layout’s well-maintained natural surroundings, the club has become a member of the Audubon International Cooperative Sanctuary program, an achievement for many routings.

Although both layouts are the same length, the Royal Poinciana Golf Club Cypress Course offers unique challenges on certain holes. For instance, the fourth hole features a short par four with an elevated green, making it tricky to putt and maintain par. Similarly, the fifth hole is known for its challenging green, especially for players putting downhill.

Meanwhile, the 7th hole is the number one rated hole on the layout, posing a challenge for every shot. The hole bends to the left for the most part, and the green is defended by short and right water. A conservative approach is recommended for the best chance at a good score.

Those interested in playing a round at Royal Poinciana Golf Club should note that this is an invitation-only, member-owned golf club. Only the eligible members are allowed to enter the premises, as well as use the clubhouse amenities such as dining at different Royal Poinciana on-site restaurants, playing tennis, bocce, or pickleball on numerous sports courts, or purchasing favorite golf apparel at the pro shop. Private members also have access to the driving range, putting greens, chipping greens, and cart/club rental services.
