The private Royal Sydney Golf Club is located in Rose Bay, a suburb of Sydney. Founded in 1893 Royal Sydney is now one of Australia's premier sporting and social clubs.

Royal Sydney was one of the earliest golf clubs founded in Australia, initially as Sydney Golf Club, and in 1897 Queen Victoria granted the Club its ‘Royal' prefix. Tennis, billiards, and croquet have been played since 1905, and bowls were introduced in 1929. The current Clubhouse was built in 1922 and was extensively renovated in 2003.

The Club features two superb golf courses; the Championship Course and the Centenary Course. To date, the Championship Course has hosted 15 Australian Opens and one Women's Australian Open. The Emirates Australian Open, most recently held at the club in November 2016, was won by Jordan Spieth.

The Championship Course has always been an ‘old-fashioned', traditional, heavily bunkered, the tough test of golf, especially in any wind. There are no gimmicks, no tricks, chasms, or watery caverns. Its undulating fairways and treacherous bunkers ensure that the course is a challenge, even for the most avid golfer. The Championship Course has undergone many changes over the years, the most recent being a rebuilding of the greens which was completed in 2003.

Royal Sydney also offers a short 9-hole course called the Centenary Course. It was completely rebuilt to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Club in 1997. The course was designed to utilize every golf club in the bag for the competent golfer with undulating terrain featuring tight fairways and small contoured greens. Water comes into play on six of the nine holes, presenting a further challenge for the golfer.

The Royal Sydney Golf Club features a total of 18 world-class tennis courts, seven synthetics, and eleven lawn courts, which are available for the use of members and their guests all year round. The club also currently has both two world-class bowling greens and two croquet courts as well as a Fitness Centre featuring a gymnasium, 25-meter outdoor heated pool, indoor warm water pool, an exercise studio, squash court, café, and child-minding service.

A full range of practice facilities is available for golfers along with a well-equipped Pro Shop. After a round members and their guests can enjoy the excellent bar and dining options offered in the substantial clubhouse which is also an excellent function venue.
