Dating from 1987, the venerable Silver Lake Executive Golf Course was the very first executive course in The Villages. Located on the east side of Highway 27, Silver Lake is a relatively level golf course and is unique in that it has no bunkers on any of its nine easy-paying holes.

Silver Lake Executive Golf Course is a scenic course, almost park-like in appearance, with dozens of large oaks ornamenting the layout. Novices will enjoy this track from the front tees, while more advanced players will probably feel more challenged teeing it up farther back.

This nine-hole layout is top-rated, partly due to some of the updates the facility has undergone since its original construction. Major course improvements were implemented in 2000 and again in 2012 making this par 29 executive course a fair and enjoyable test of a player's golf skills, whether they play from the forward tees or stretch the course to 1,613-yards by playing from the tips.

Wall-to-wall fairways, no bunkers and only two short carries over water make this a fun course for everyone to play. One of the original courses at The Villages, Silver Lake Executive can be found right in the middle of The Village of Orange Blossom Gardens. Continuous improvements make this an excellent course for the novice and an ample test for the advanced player.

Aside from the Silver Lake Executive Golf Course, Villagers get to play complimentary golf on the 40+ executive golf courses of The Villages Executive Golf Trail. Green fees on the Executive courses are free for residents, and there is no charge for walking. Residents can also purchase the Executive Golf Trail Pass, which offers the use of their own golf car on all executive courses.
