Located in the heart of Port St. Lucie and open to the public, St. Lucie Trail Golf Club (formerly PGA Country Club) offers a classic Old Florida-style 18-hole golf course. Designed by famed golf architect Jim Fazio and revitalized in 2014 under the direction of St. Lucie Trail Golf Club Superintendent Dick Gray, the par 72 course presents a range of challenging holes.
The club is situated on an indigenous Florida footprint that offers expansive views while the layout's natural features make it feel anything but predictable. Noted for its small greens and fast putting surfaces, water comes into play on more than half the holes on the course. Over 80 bunkers provide an added complexity to the relatively narrow fairways.
Both the front and back nines share a palpable flow but retain their own unique flavor. The 6,910-yard course goes from challenging to forgiving depending entirely upon the tees chosen. Florida's changing weather, wind, and varying elements transform the playing experience and add to the layout's occasionally changeable nature.
Amenities at the club include a spa, five lighted Har-Tru tennis courts, a large pool overlooking the lake, and the clubhouse bar and grill. St. Lucie Trail Golf Club can also host corporate events and meetings along with private functions. There is also a full-service Pro shop for golfers that can assist with equipment and ample practice facilities including a driving range, chipping and pitching area, and a putting green.
