Golfers using Sweetgum can also use its driving range and join the golf school academy, where they can enhance their game. Sweetgum also provides a teaching pro to guide players further.
Nestled in a natural canopy of live oaks, the nine-hole Sweetgum Executive Golf Course always seemed destined to become one of the preferred choices of many residents of The Villages. The par 28 Sweetgum routing meanders around a small prairie providing some challenging golf holes as well as some outstanding natural beauty.
Sweetgum Executive Golf Course is part of The Villages’ 40+ Executive Golf trail courses where villagers are given "free golf for life" and is sure to challenge even the better players. Multiple sets of tees with yardage ranging from 892 to 1,582-yrards allows each player to enhance their round with a variety of yardage options. The Villages’ residents can enjoy all the amenities and conveniences at Sweetgum, where there is no charge for walking.
To get to Sweetgum, take Buena Vista South across the 466A to the first roundabout. Head west on Pinellas Place. Then make a left on Hendry Drive, and the starter shack will be on the right hand side just past Big Cypress Recreation Center.
