The Tampa Bay Golf and Country Club challenging championship layout is routed around beautiful lakes and conservation areas. Not long by today’s standards, the course is a shot maker’s delight and position off the tee is critical to good scoring as water and out-of-bounds come into play on all 18-holes.
The course is appealing to all skill levels with five sets of tees. The casual golfer will find the Scottish links-style layout to be the perfect test. Its challenges are plenty, playing 6,210-yards from the championship tees, with tight, tree-lined fairways and enough water hazards to get any golfer’s attention. Those same elements make the layout intriguing to veteran players who want to hone accuracy and iron play.
The course is noted for the front nine being short at 2,895-yards and tight. The back nine lengthens a bit, measuring 3,315-yards, and is more open. Here, golfers will really need to rely on their iron game. Three of the courses four par 5s measure under 500-yards and although they may look like easy pickings on the scorecard, slice a drive or miss-hit an iron, and a potential par or birdie quickly becomes a bogey or worse.
The Tampa Bay Golf and Country Club's golf practice facilities include a small chipping area and putting green. Additionally, the club features a "Florida typical" driving range with ten hitting stations, where floating golf balls are hit into an Aqua Driving Range lake. There are 75, 100, 150, and 200-yard floating targets.
The club's excellent clubhouse facility rounds out the amenities on offer at the Tampa Bay Golf and Country Club. Here visitors will find a Pro shop and the in-house bar and grill which has an excellent selection of drinks and a great menu. There’s also a swimming pool and fitness center for those looking to keep fit and a billiards room for some less strenuous competition.

The 55+ Tampa Bay Golf and Country Club community began construction in 1994 and there is currently more than 1,300 single family homes, with more new construction underway.
