A well-established course at the inland New South Wales town of Tamworth. The club was established in 1899 and has a long, strong golfing history. An 18-hole, par 70 course over 5,957 meters, the clubhouse contains a pro shop, bar, restaurant, and children's playground.

Despite the arid environment, Tamworth is an attractive course, with good upkeep and design. The narrow, slightly undulating fairways and are well maintained by the club's irrigation system. There are an array of bunkers positioned both on the fairway and protected by the green, most of which are shallow and playable by mid-handicap players. A water hazard interferes with two holes. The heat of the area can be a real test both physically and mentally.

In 2012, the front and back nines were swapped. This resulted in the course finishing on a challenging par 4 as opposed to a par 3.

The par 4 11th is the quintessential hole on the course. Tight and requiring disciplined shots from tee to pin, a subtle dogleg works from right to left, with the 100 meters extremely narrow. As the hole opens up, the courses only water hazard features to the left. The greens here are narrow and the rough surrounding it can be dry and difficult to escape.

Five hours to Sydney and six hours to Brisbane, Tamworth is a well-known and important regional center in the history of New South Wales. The club is well patronized by locals and a traditional country-feeling setting to visitors. A variety of competitions, including pro-am and national juniors, are regularly held at Tamworth.
