The Tarpon Boil Executive Golf Course is a gorgeous, well-maintained private layout that even helps with water conservation in The Villages retirement community in Lady Lake, Florida. The par 28 routing is a picture-perfect destination for golfers, featuring the beauty of Florida’s unique, rich natural flora and nature reserves.
The Tarpon Boil Executive Golf Course is beautifully designed and complimented with a variety of landscapes. Naturalized areas filled with native cord grasses are seen throughout the round and come in to play on most holes. These naturalized areas promote water conservation and are essentially maintenance-free.
Measuring 1,578-yards from the longest tees and designed by Clifton, Ezell and Clifton, Tarpon Boil is all about variety. With multiple tee locations to choose from, the course offers the golfer an opportunity to use just about every club in their bag. The first eight holes play as par 3s and prepare the golfer for a big finish on the par 4 ninth. The “signature ninth” is the perfect way to finish the round with a dogleg left that flows nicely along the water’s edge. A good tee shot will even set a player up for a birdie finish.
Not just beautiful, the Tarpon Boil Executive Golf Course is also a friendly layout for almost all handicaps. If a golfer is looking for a place to unwind or work on their golf skills, this is one of the ideal places to go to as it has wide fairways in some holes. With the help of The Villages’ team of teaching professionals, players can also receive quality instruction from the best teachers.
As with all the 40+ executive-style layouts on The Villages Executive Golf Trail residents pay no green fees to walk the Tarpon Boil course. They’re also free to use their own golf cart if they wish and can purchase a trail pass for a nominal fee on either an annual, semi-annual or per round basis.

The residents of the Villages of Buttonwood and Tamarind Grove live in comfortable, mid to large-sized golf properties, with living areas ranging from 1,100-square feet to over 2,200-square feet. Almost every golf house has an expansive front and backyard, as well as a wide driveway and generously sized garage. The golf villas enjoy equally attractive, if slightly more modestly proportioned landscaping.
Most golf homes in the community have exteriors finished in neutral colors. On the inside, residents have plenty of space with open two and three-bedroom floor plans. Built from 2010 onwards, many resale golf homes at Buttonwood and Tamarind Grove have benefitted from recent updates to their interior stylings.
For golf enthusiast, the Southern Star Executive Golf Course is the closest of several, while the Jacaranda championship course, originating from the Cane Garden Country Club, wanders through the neighborhood as well. Alternatively, the Sterling Heights Village Recreation Center and the Seabreeze Regional Recreation Center offer plenty of other indoor and outdoor activities for those who like to stay active.
