The 18-hole Tarpon Springs Golf Course is owned and operated by the City of Tarpon Springs. The original nine holes of the golf course were built in 1907 and followed the architecture of the time with small, elevated greens and quite a few doglegs.

In 1927 the course was redesigned and made into an 18-hole facility by Wayne Styles and John Van Kleek. Par is 72 and the course plays 6,200-yards from the back tees with many doglegs that make it play longer than the actual length. In the summer of 2014, the club underwent a renovation to put in new Seashore Paspalum greens as well as all-new tee boxes. In 2015 the club also renovated the driving range to offer more hitting areas on both grass and artificial turf.

Tarpon Springs Golf Course is the oldest municipal golf course in Florida and is currently featured on the Florida Historic Golf Trail. The Florida Historic Golf Trail is a collection of historic courses throughout Florida, that golfers can still play on today.

The Florida Historic Golf Trail is a program of the Florida Department of State, designed to enhance public awareness of Florida's historic golf courses and increase an appreciation for historic preservation and Florida history. Some courses on the Trail have retained much of their historic character, while others have been modified over the years. Golf has been played for more than a half-century at each of these sites.

Tarpon Springs Golf Course prides itself in offering a fun, yet challenging course to players of all skill levels as well as top-notch customer service to everyone who walks through the door. Other amenities at the course include a fully stocked Pro shop with competitive pricing and a snack bar with sandwiches, snacks, soft drinks, beer, and wine.

Tarpon Springs Golf Course

Tarpon Springs was once known as the “Venice of the South” and is also known as “The Sponge Capital of the World.' Despite being fairly small compared to the other towns in Florida, the local community has a special “small-world” culture to it. Its towns “niche” is its Greek origins and residents can find the aroma of classic Greek food wafting on the breeze wherever they walk.

Located in the northern part of Pinellas County, Tarpon Springs is one of the most charming communities in the area. In addition to the sponge diving industry, Greek culture, and delicious Greek cuisine, Tarpon Springs is emerging as a diverse cultural destination with eclectic shopping and dining experiences and many outdoor recreational activities.

Tarpon Springs Golf Course is convenient to beaches, golf, the Pinellas Trail, dining, shops, parks, historic Tarpon Springs, the famous Sponge Docks, the Heritage Museum, and the Aquarium and Animal Sanctuary. Residents enjoy a low monthly HOA fee which covers landscaping, regular maintenance, management fees, and the clubhouse amenities which include a gym, pool, spa, and more.
