Thana City Country Club features Thailand's only Greg Norman-designed golf course and is close to Bangkok's city center. The club has been the venue for several major professional tournaments including the 1993 and 2011 Thailand Open, as well as the 1994 and 1995 Kosaido Thailand Ladies Open.
Like the country club's condominium projects, Greg Norman's Thana City layout abuts Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport, and jet planes swoop overhead seeming at times as if they are landing on a fairway. There is a variety to every hole and golfers should expect to have every aspect of their game challenged. However, fairways are still entirely flat, and it's easy to see how the course used to be a rice paddy field.
The par 72 Thana City golf course and clubhouse have undergone significant improvements and renovations recently and continue to provide an enjoyable and modern golf experience. The course landscaping makes use of many native trees and flowering shrubs while plain grasses, reeds, and sand were used to create an illusion of seaside links. Natural streams, lakes, and an abundance of strategically-placed sculptured sand traps enhance the 7,008-yard layout. Greens are well-manicured and new sub-surface drainage allows for play throughout the year.
In addition to the championship golf course, facilities at the Thana City Country Club include a golf resort, a well-kept modern clubhouse, and fitness center, swimming pool, tennis courts, a driving range, practice facilities, and a golf academy. There is also a Pro shop and excellent caddie services available to golfers, while a selection of bars and restaurants offer a range of relaxing dining options after a round.
