Opened in 1969, The Country Club at Silver Springs Shores is a semi-private facility with an 18-hole layout designed by legendary course architect Desmond Muirhead. With its severe greens and water in play on eight holes, it is a challenging test for all skill levels.
In addition to providing challenging golf, the country club is also home to nearly every form of wildlife found in the state of Florida. Deer, wild turkey, alligators, and bald eagles frequent the course. The Country Club at Silver Springs Shores is truly a great Florida Golf Experience!
The clubhouse measures 19,000-square feet and have numerous amenities for its players, including a large main hall for golf functions and banquets, a full service restaurant/ and bar, complete locker room facilities, and a golf Pro shop stocked with the latest in golf equipment. The Country Club at Silver Springs Shores also provides a driving range and putting green.
Over the years, the course has hosted many mini tour and US Open Sectional qualifying events. Most notably, Hooters Tour wins by PGA Tour players Zach Johnson and Chad Campbell. Known over the years as having the area's fastest and most severe greens, the course also offers two very distinctly different nines.
The opening nine gives the feeling of a traditional parkland course with large native trees and wide open landing areas. The finishing nine provides the player with a true Florida golf experience with water in play on six of the holes. Together, the two nines complete a truly challenging golf experience.
Members of the course are given a GHIN Handicap and are permitted to use its club storage facilities as well as its locker rooms. They are also given a 10% discount on any merchandise items in its Pro Shop. Guests of a member are also given a discounted golf rate each time they play.
