An integral part of The Golf Club at Briar's Creek experience is the way the club's 18-hole golf course and the natural environment complement each other. Located on Johns Island, but within the same area known as Kiawah Island, Briar's Creek provides a challenging alternative to the abundance of golf courses located there. There is no shortage of water, marshes, wetlands, and wildlife, along with the occasional bunker, rough, and gently rolling, but quick putting surface. Set on more than 800-acres of South Carolina's scenic Johns Island, this private retreat provides an unhurried lifestyle and world-class golf with no tee times.
Precisely designed and skilfully maintained, the 7,130-yard Rees Jones masterpiece embraces the rich, low country landscape and vegetation of Johns Island and the Kiawah River. Multiple tee boxes offer dramatic shots around, across, and along unspoiled marsh and riverside vistas, creating a spirited, scenic par 72 challenge for golfers of every level.
At the heart of the course is the 13,000-square foot clubhouse overlooking Briar's Creek and the Kiawah River. Nestled between the 9th and 18th greens the clubhouse stands, literally, as the centerpiece of the Briar's Creek golfing experience. Inside, members and their guests can enjoy mingling in the Rees Jones Pub or eating in the spacious dining room overlooking the picturesque waterways.
Along with meeting rooms, there are wide porches with outside seating areas overlooking the event peninsula, a fishing and boating dock, and the 19th hole which is a 50-yard golf hole designed for settling matches, practicing your short game, or for just having fun after a day on the course. There is a driving range and putting green as well, not to mention well-appointed locker rooms and a Pro shop that caters to golfers' every need.
