The Palms Golf Club at Forest Lake features an 18-hole championship-level golf course located just a few minutes from downtown Sarasota and accessible to and from notable attractions such as Siesta Key, Bird Key, and Lido Key. The mature landscapes and water features were designed by Gordon G. Lewis in 2005. This semi-private par 64 golf course is relatively short at 4,545 yards but it has plenty of interesting challenges for players to overcome.
This golf course is relatively new, quite evident in its fairways and greens which are in very good condition. Credit must be given to the management as well for their constant maintenance and high standards. Along with the course and its other practice facilities, one of the many highlights of The Palms Golf Club is its aquatic driving range.
The signature hole according to regular players is the 3rd. This par 5 hole is the longest and most challenging at The Palms Golf Club and is a great risk and reward opportunity. A large body of water crosses the fairways at around 200-yards from the green and any drive that misses the fairway is bound for a layup. Long hitters can reach the green in two, but precision is required as there are many hazards that stand in the way of players looking for an eagle.
After a round players can retire to the clubhouse where they will find cold drinks and delicious food. The clubhouse is also available for private events and is the perfect venue for corporate golf outings.
