Established in 1896 the Toowoomba Golf Club, in the suburb of Middle Ridge, Toowoomba, is the second oldest golf club in Queensland.

The club has had no fewer than five different locations within the Toowoomba City boundary. In approximately 1924 it was decided that the club needed more permanency and therefore members negotiated both the purchase and acceptance of gifted land that the club has now owned and occupied since 1925.

The official opening of the club took place on 4 December 1926, when Queensland Premier William McCormack hit a long drive to officially open the course for play. However, the links style layout had been open for play, unofficially, for some time beforehand.

Toowoomba Golf Club's course has been carved out of beautiful natural parkland located 700-metres above sea level on the escarpment of the Great Dividing Range. Tree-lined Kikuyu fairways lead to penncross bent greens and some of the truest putting surfaces to be found in Queensland.

The current course features a challenging par 72 walk or cart layout that measures 5,953-metres and has hosted numerous major championships and international golfing visitors including Greg Norman, Gene Sarazen, Gary Player, Bobby Locke, and Bruce Crampton.

The clubhouse hosts a 150-seat bar and bistro with a deck that overlooks the kikuyu fairways which are bordered by 100-year-old gums and the camphor laure

l trees which surround the 18th green. The clubhouse has multiple function spaces and can cater for events, both large and small whilst golfers will find ample practice facilities as well as a pro shop.
