Located within a short drive of Austin, Texas, and just minutes away from the San Antonio International Airport, TPC San Antonio is a private 36-hole golf club and resort facility, only accessible to members and guests of the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort and Spa.
TPC San Antonio opened in January 2010 with two 18-hole championship golf courses designed by two of golf's most innovative architects: Pete Dye and Greg Norman. The layouts respectively complement one another each encompassing its own unique look, feel, and playing experience for both members and resort guests to enjoy.
While very different from the traditional, tree-lined Oaks Course, Pete Dye's Canyons Course stands on its own as a tournament venue in terms of design, strategy, and hill country beauty. Dye's signature wide fairways, stately stands of oak and cedar trees, and panoramic views of the adjacent Cibolo Canyons create a breathtakingly beautiful and enjoyable challenge for scratch golfers and novices alike.
The piece of land on which the par 72 Canyons was built dictates the course strategy and the design is true to the flow of the land. The fairway corridors provide panoramic views of a 700-acre nature preserve and a variety of Bermuda grasses were specially selected for the 7,106-yard course to provide optimum playing conditions, diversity in color and texture, and environmental sensitivity.
There is a 23-acre practice facility for golfers at TPC San Antonio including a Pro shop, driving range, two pitching and chipping areas, and a putting green. The hacienda-style clubhouse provides a Members' Grille overlooking the Oaks Course as well as a bar and fine dining restaurant.
