Although an easy Level 1 layout, the Turtle Mound Executive Golf Course is still inviting to all levels of golfers, with one hole having a forced carry over water. The relatively short length and generous greens make this course an excellent venue for the novice golfer.
A challenge without being overly difficult, the focus is on the fun at Turtle Mound. Everyone can enjoy a round here, but it is designed to be a relatively easy course for the beginning player. Fairways are forgiving, and the course plays fairly short, even from the rear tees.
A much-talked-about hole on Turtle Mound is the par 3 number four. First, a substantial carry over water is required, and that shot must find a small green protected in front of a large, inviting bunker. The good news is that multiple tee boxes can be used that change the angle of attack on number four. Play smart!
Turtle Mound is a par 27 course that beginners will appreciate – playing as short as 804-yards from the forward tees and as long as 1,323-yards from the back. Amenities at Turtle Mound Executive Golf Course include a driving range, golf school academy, teaching pro, and a clubhouse where golfers can meet and greet other players.
Aside from Turtle Mound Executive Golf Course, all residents of The Villages can play complimentary golf on the 40+ layouts of the Executive Golf Trail and there is no charge to a resident for walking the course. Residents who would prefer the use of a golf cart are able to purchase an Executive Golf Trail Pass which offers the use of a personal golf car on all executive courses for their household paid daily, monthly, semi-annually, or annually.
