A longtime Central Florida favorite, with lush, cypress lined fairways and well bunkered greens, Wedgefield is a classic Florida style course. Formerly known as Rocket City and Cape Orlando, Wedgefield Golf Club’s 18-hole layout has matured into a player’s delight.
Wedgefield’s diverse collection of Roy Albert Anderson designed holes tests all facets of the game. There are short holes demanding accuracy and long holes that require length. Water can be found on eleven holes along with sixty-five bunkers between the first tee and the eighteenth green. And a great round can only be carded if players can successfully survive the club’s notoriously punishing final four holes.
The par 72 course at Wedgefield Golf Club has a layout that is suitable for all golfers, but is perfect for intermediate players. The course has medium sized greens that are well guarded by bunkers and although there is plenty of water throughout the course, it’s not an overly significant factor in the game.
Affordable year round rates is why Wedgefield Golf Club is known as Orlando’s Best Value for Central Floridians and out-of-town visitors alike. Amenities at the club include a driving range, a putting and chipping area, and a golf school. Members can also use the club’s other facilities, including its swimming pool, billiards tables, and tennis courts.
After a round, The Wedge Bar and Grille is a popular hangout for golfers and non-golfers alike. The club has fun events all week long, including Trivia and Wings Wednesday, and Dinner Specials on Thursdays and Fridays, to name a few. Wedgefield Golf Club also has a variety of entertainment on Friday nights, including karaoke and live bands.
