The private, members-only West Orange Country Club is just a little over 20-minutes away from downtown Orlando and around 30-minutes from Orlando International Airport. Founded in 1967 by wealthy West Orange citrus growers, West Orange Country Club was intended to be laid back and easy-going with an old-south type of vibe – homey, comfortable, yet with a five-star club feel.
Designed by the well-known golf course architect Lloyd Clifton, West Orange Country Club’s championship layout was renovated in 2006 along with the cultivation of Tift dwarf grass. Today, the greens are smooth and undulating – challenging enough to test even the skilled player. Lined with trees, the fairways are generally short, while five man-made lakes and two streams are incorporated into twelve of the course’s 18-holes.
West Orange Country Club is the home of the West Orange Invitational where, every November, the best amateur golfers in Central Florida gather to compete. This Country Club has also played host to mini-tour events such as the Hooters Tour and the Suncoast Ladies Series.
Golf amenities and services available include cart and club rentals, the driving range, a putting green, and pitching and chipping areas, as well as bag storage and lockers. West Orange Country Club also operates the Future Generation Golf Academy.
Other than golf, West Orange Club also maintains three tennis courts and a swimming pool. The club conducts junior tennis programs and also runs the Safety First Swim School which provides survival swim instruction to kids aged six months and older.
The clubhouse is two restaurants – the main dining room and the specialty Grill Room where members can dine with their families, socialize with other members, or entertain guests. These restaurants also have complete banquet facilities on hand for special occasions.

The golf homes available in the West Orange Country Club community feature architectural designs that combine both Craftsman and Traditional Florida elements. There are numerous custom floor plans to choose from that offer 3 to 6-bedrooms, 2 to 5-bathrooms, 2 to 3-car garages, front porches, covered lanais, spacious balconies, backyard pools and gardens positioned amongst pockets of conservation and wetland areas.
Residents of the community can select a membership to suit them at the private West Orange Country Club – which can include playing privileges on the 18-hole championship course and the tennis courts, as well as use of the swimming pool. Dining at the clubhouse restaurants is also one of the foremost benefits that members of the West Orange Country Club and their families enjoy.
The West Orange Country Club community is not far from retail precincts offering department stores and specialty shops. More outdoor adventures also await at the famous West Orange Trail and around abundant Lake Apopka. Orlando’s phenomenal theme parks – Sea World, Universal Studios and Disney World – are also close by.
