Between the magnificent Illawarra Escarpment and the beautiful Pacific Ocean lies Wollongong, less than an hour's drive south of Sydney. The city lies at the northern gateway to the beautiful south coast of New South Wales and is home to the publicly accessible Wollongong Golf Course.

Along with the oldest course in the Illawarra, the Wollongong Golf Club dates back to 1897. In the early years of this century, course designer Ross Watson developed a master plan for an extensive redesign of the layout.

Stunning ocean views feature on one of the oldest par 70, links-style layouts in the state. Lush bent grass greens and Kikuya fairways, with excellent presentation, will test players with many challenging holes. Although an easy walk over a well-bunkered and mostly flat course, carts are available.

The club has hosted many tournaments over the years, most recently the New South Wales P.G.A. Championships from 2009 to 2011.

Wollongong Golf Club is now a multi-million dollar complex with a selection of bars and function spaces. It also offers four-star accommodation and an award-winning restaurant, each of which has its own spectacular views. The putting green, pitching area, and nets are made available free of charge.
