Wycliffe Golf and Country Club is located in Wellington, Florida, and offers 36-holes of championship golf, tennis, fitness, and a host of other recreational activities and resort-style amenities. This private club's two layouts are distinctly different and feature undulating greens, and an abundance of mounding that makes them stand apart from other typical South Florida layouts.
The par 72 West Course at Wycliffe, which was designed by Karl Litten and John Sanford and opened for play in 1992, and while somewhat shorter than the East Course presents golfers of all abilities with just the right combination of challenge and playability. Along with the club's array of practice facilities, the 6,641-yard routing is carpeted with lush Bermuda grass and thanks to the local climate, available for play year-round.
Wycliffe Golf and Country Club is also a flourishing haven of native vegetation and habitat that is a natural resource to more than 250 species of indigenous birds. The two 18-hole layouts at the club take full advantage of this natural topography, and in August 2015, Wycliffe received certification in Environmental Planning from the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary for Golf Courses.
Coming to Wycliffe is an $18.1 million renovation that will be completed by the fall of 2019. The project will include a new signature restaurant, lobby bar and lounge, a refurbished banquet room, updates to the spa and fitness center, and an outdoor pavilion. Panoramic views of the closing holes of both courses can be enjoyed from the clubhouse's Grande Dining and Grille Rooms.
