Golf and Country Club La Marquesa is referred to as “A Pearl in Valencia”, this popular golf course sits inside Ciudad Quesada, one of the most unique and cosmopolitan urban settings in Eastern Spain, in the province of Alicante. Surrounded by beautiful mountains and orange groves, the La Marquesa golf course became the gem that drew a thriving golf community to the new development.
Ciudad Quesada has an interesting past. Its owner Jose Quesada Samper is a visionary and a developer. He envisioned city-type urbanization for his real estate development. To achieve his goal, he designed and built the La Marquesa golf course and a local airport to draw international investors. As a result, around 75% of the population in Ciudad Quesada are foreigners who invested in golf properties. Mostly from European countries like Scandinavia and Great Britain. The majority are retirees who are attracted to the low cost of living and the beautiful sunny climate of the region. The area is recognized by the World Health Organization as having the healthiest climate in the world with temperatures averaging 20C and 320 days of sunshine. This makes playing golf and other outdoor recreation a year-round activity and an ideal place to invest in a golf home.
Originally designed around the golf course, the town of Quesada has grown into a collection of urbanization that includes the surrounding areas of Dona Pepa, La Fiesta, Lo Marabu, Lo Pepin, Pueblo Bravo, and Pueblo Lucero. Collectively, this comprises a total of around 30,000 properties. Options for golf houses in La Marquesa include bungalows, villas, townhouses, duplexes, and quads. A wide array of choices you can choose from.
Golf & Country Club La Marquesa is a par 71, 18-hole golf championship golf course that is situated on a flat valley between mountains and has excellent views. The course terrain is flat but enjoyable and varied consisting of ramps, blind holes, protected holes, bunkers, streams, and 2 lakes. Its technical difficulty is rated at 4 out of 5 or moderate-hard.
Over the years, the golf course has undergone several technical improvements and designs to make it more challenging to adapt to players' demands. The latest improvement and the most notable is the remake of Hole no. 16 into the exact replica of TPC Sawgrass' signature hole, Hole 17. A par 3 hole with an island green surrounded by water all around. A challenging hole that requires accuracy.
The course is open to visitors every day. But it also has an option for membership where players can enjoy the course year-round for free. The subscription has options for individuals or couples and has different lengths like 3, 6, 9 months to a year. Check the club for the exact details.
The clubhouse has a restaurant and also a cafe with terraces. It also has a golf school catering for both adults and kids. There is a practice facility that offers a driving range with 18 tees, putting, pitching, and chipping greens, and a practice bunker. There is also a fully stocked pro shop and rental facilities. Rentals include clubs for hire, trolley, electro-trolley, and electro-cart for hire. Caddies are also available.
Ciudad Quesada's urbanization has an international character that attracts a year-round tourist trade and has a well-entrenched vibrant ex-pat community.
