Half an hour north of Palm Beach, Jupiter Hills Club in Tequesta, Florida, is one of the more exclusive clubs in the area, and home to several PGA pros. The club and the Jupiter Hills community are located on the intercoastal and provide some of the best private, prime golf home real estates in the area.
Founded by comedian Bob Hope, golf architect George Fazio and William Ford in the 1970s, the Jupiter Hills Club is one of the more private, and some might say secretive, clubs in the region, and memberships are exclusive and highly prized. Although there may be a long waiting list for membership, restricted play while on the list is available.
Tom Fazio re-designed both the club's Hills and the Village courses which are set on some of the highest ground in Florida between the 3,000-mile-long Intracoastal Waterway and Jonathan Dickinson State Park. The most outstanding feature of these courses is the dramatic elevation changes between the acres of pine, oak, and palmetto.
The courses at the Jupiter Hills Club may not have the subtlety of a Seminole or ask the same sort of strategic questions, but the terrain is naturally suited to golf, and the number of exciting dune shots helps to keep them among Florida's most popular. The layout at Jupiter Hills which has scooped the most accolades, however, is the Hills Course which is Fazio's all-time favorite course and one to which he has made subtle but regular improvements over time.
