Melreese Country Club is located next to Miami International Airport, the International Links Melreese Country Club is one of Florida's finest public golf courses. The 135-acre Country Club was rated as the 11th Best Course in Florida in 2015 by Golf Advisor. Although not having golf homes inside the Country Club, the Melreese is surrounded by a large number of homes constructed by popular builders. One such builder, CC Homes offers various styles of golf properties providing luxurious private living across seven home styles: Cadiz/Las Palmas, Capri, Maui, Bali, Santorini/Tenerife, Valencia/Ibiza/Fiji, and Tahiti. Veteran homebuilders Armando Codina and James Carr, owners of CC Homes, purchased the land with a goal to build a family-friendly community living in modern-style homes. In Downtown Doral, the 250-acre estate is accessible to shopping malls, dining restaurants, and its resort-style pool with other relaxing amenities. Doral is also nearby schools such as Downtown Doral Charter Elementary School and its Upper School.
Opened in 1961, Dick Wilson and Robert Trent Jones, Sr., originally designed the course. However, in 1997, the Golf Club made a $3.9 million renovation, led by architect Charles Mark Mahannah Jr. Since the renovations, Melreese has gained increasing prominence, becoming popular with pro golfers, including Tiger Woods. Other famous sports figures like NBA stars Keith Askins and Alonzo Mourning; baseball giants Livan Hernandez and Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez; and PGA tour phenom professional Erik Compton played inside the Club.
The Country Club has a pro shop with the best brands of golf rental equipment as well as the Melreese restaurant which serves a mouthwatering diverse menu for weddings, proms, and receptions. Melreese is accessible to other golf clubs like Miami Beach Golf Club, Miami Springs Golf and Country Club, and Coral Gables Country Club. Residents may also choose to play at other courses located nearby, such as Biltmore Golf Course and Riviera Golf Course.
