Wellington National Golf Club in Palm Beach is known as the “Winter Equestrian Capital of the World” and voted as one of the “Best Places to Live” by CNN Money Magazine and Time Money. Within this village are eight developments, one of which is The Binks Forest.
The Binks Forest, 220-acre development is one of the most sought-after communities in Wellington. This desirable golf community plays host to a premier semi-private non-equity club that serves as a watering hole for families, ardent golfers, sophisticated equestrians, wine connoisseurs, and foodies within the development to relax and socialize.
Formerly known as the Binks Forest Golf Club, this 18-hole championship golf course was renamed Wellington National Golf Club. It has a distinguished reputation of being ranked by Golf Digest as one of the nation's “Top 75 Private Golf Courses”. The Club hosted the 1990 PGA Tour Team Championship, the Sazale Classic, won by Fred Couples and Mike Donald upon its opening.
Hailed for its uniqueness among its Florida counterparts, the par 72 golf course has rich foliage, heavily forested terrain of pines, and oak trees. Its rich Bermuda grass reminds golfers of North Carolina's Pinehurst. It was designed by the legendary Golf Hall of Fame member Johnny Miller. The course underwent a major rehabilitation handled by golf architect Gene Bates in 2007.
The Club also hosts the Kevin Perkins Golf Academy which provides superior golf instructions to players of all levels. There is also a driving range that's triple in size, a short game area, and a putting green. A full-service pro shop that is well-stocked and a rental service for clubs and carts.
The club is open to guests and also offers golf and social memberships. Amenities include a clubhouse that offers casual and fine dining with a wine bar, an events venue, a kid-friendly swimming pool, a fitness center, a massage and yoga rooms.
The Binks Forest golf community has six villages within the development. The five villages, Bridlewood, Hidden Creek, Pine Trace, The Preserve, and the Binks Estates consist of 583 single-family golf homes and estate homes that were built from 1994 to 1999. These golf homes range from 1,200 to 5,100 square foot estate homes with three to seven bedrooms, and two to 6.5 baths. The Preserve is the largest among the villages with 264 single-family golf homes and estate homes. Pine Trace has the least number of golf houses at 42. It is also the only non-gated village in the golf community. The 6th village and the latest among them is Binks Pointe which was built from 2017 to 2019. The village consists of 90 luxury estate townhomes that feature three bedrooms and 2,291 square feet of living area.
Binks Forest golf homes are beautifully landscaped and well maintained. It is also a perfect place for families with children. The area is zoned for Wellington's top-rated schools, the Binks Forest Elementary, Wellington Landings Middle School, and Wellington Community High School. The golf community is also conveniently located, being just a short walk, a bike ride, or a short drive to the nearest school, dining, shopping, or entertainment area.
