D. J. DeVictor
D.J. DeVictor, known as “DJ” graduated from The Ohio State University in 1977. From there he took his first job in Portland, Oregon, which was at the time a very progressive part of the USA relative to the Landscape Architecture design field. In 1979, while still in Oregon, DJ became a volunteer member of the Clackamas County Design Review Board, reviewing all projects that were to be developed in that community.
As well as being a registered Landscape Architect, DJ is a Level II Certified Design Professional, licensed and authorized to complete the ES&PC Plan Documents required by the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission. In the early 1980s, DJ took on a job as Director of Planning and Development for Fairfield Communities, Inc. (FCI). While DJ was engaged at FCI, the Resort Company grew from 3 sites to over 30 throughout the USA.
After leaving FCI, DJ opened his design firm, DVA, in Atlanta; which was later changed to DVL Design Group in 1986. DVL was founded on the principal to offer a full service experience in land design with the ability to create value in the Land Planning, Landscape Architecture, and Golf Design fields. DVL completed projects in 11 States, the US Virgin Islands, Turkey, and Mexico.
2013 started the new chapter in DJ’s career with the firm joining Joe Skelton in creating the DVS Design Group. DJ will continue to set the overall vision of the firm and remains intimately involved in projects to ensure the same quality of analysis and design that was appreciated and realized with DVL.
DVS benefits from DJ’s continued leadership working alongside Joe Skelton. DJ’s unique abilities are a blend and balance of vision and attention to detail, earning the respect of his peers and the development community. DJ regards his projects as God’s provision for his family and the team.
