Harrison Minchew
Harrison Minchew grew up in Augusta, Georgia, learning golf on a Donald Ross-designed course. From early childhood, Harrison knew that golf was his destiny. He followed this young dream into adulthood, receiving his degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia, and has since distinguished himself as a respected golf course architect.
Harrison worked at Arnold Palmer Design Company as a senior golf course architect, director of design services, and vice president. In these roles, Harrison was involved in the design of more than 140 golf courses worldwide, from conception to completion.
In 2008, Harrison launched his own firm, melding his professional experience with the experience of the firm's team of architects, engineers, and project managers. He currently oversees Harrison Minchew Golf Course Architecture out of offices in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, and Beijing.
The "team approach" that Ed Seay and Arnold Palmer always emphasized is integral to the HMGCA approach. Loving both the game and its beautiful playing field, Harrison has a penchant for creating fun, traditional, and challenging golf courses. He and his team are dedicated to meeting the needs of every golfer and to enhancing each environment with respectful attention to preserving its natural beauty. The company's goal is to emulate the timeless character, strategy, and design principles of the Golden Age of golf architecture.
