Jerry Lemmons
Jerry L. Lemmons, a member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA) and a renowned layout architect, is a graduate of Murray State University with an Associate’s Degree in Horticulture. Since 1982, Jerry has been working in routing design and construction, and his designs are situated in many different parts of the country including Gaylord Springs Golf Links in Tennessee, Silos Country Club in Kentucky, TPC Piper Glen in North Carolina, and many more.
After working on a Kidwell - Hurdzan designed golf course in his alma mater, Jerry started his first solo design in 1984. His excellent work in that layout was recognized by many other professional designers, opening an opportunity for him to redesign the Old Hickory Country Club in Old Hickory, Tennessee. A year later, Jerry formed his own firm, Golf Links Inc. based in Tennessee. The company has since completed more than 300 projects in its over 40 years in the industry.
Jerry has been the senior designer for all of the company’s layout projects. Aside from golf design services, Golf Links Inc. also focuses on Turfgrass management, construction, as well as business and operation services. As mentioned on its website, the firm builds courses that golfers enjoy and return to play, and its design philosophy revolves around making the golf course fit the site.
Golf Links Inc. has been providing clients with quality golf course designs that are mainly based on the enjoyability of players. Jerry is also hands-on in making the layouts player-friendly by giving “affordable golf.” He believed that routings should not be expensive, longer, and bigger, to reach the maximum amusement of golfers. Jerry has also contributed to numerous golf publications including Golf Course News, Golf Management and Executive Golfer, and the USGA Green Section.
