Ken Colen and his family operate the family business, first begun by Sidney Colen in 1946. Subsidiary building companies were combined and incorporated under On Top of the World, Inc. in 1957. The company has developed communities in Pinellas County and Marion County.

On Top of the World Communities put a high value on developing and managing communities that foster strong social interactions and activities for the boomer market. Much of the family’s current focus is on developing lifelong learning opportunities and wellness and fitness programs. Residents have hundreds of opportunities for engagement.

On Top of the World Communities is an award-winning building and development company that has remained owned and operated by the Colen family for more than 65 years. Operating as a debt-free company, On Top of the World is the oldest privately held land development in the state of Florida.

Ken Colen also designed On Top of the World Golf Club, Links Course that opened in 1982, measuring 6,311 yards from the longest tees of a par 72. The course features 3 sets of tees for various skill levels.
