Located approximately 40-kilometers southeast of the Melbourne CBD, The Cranbourne Golf Club is recognized as one of Victoria's outstanding members-only golf courses.
Cranbourne is a par 72 layout designed by architect Sam Berriman, who after his respected work at Huntingdale, applied his art to the creation and development of Cranbourne in the 1950s.
A natural bushland setting featuring Santa Ana Couch Fairways, combined with bent grass greens, ensures good playing surfaces all year round.
The Club continues to rise in the National rankings, coming in highly in both 'Golf Australia Magazine's Top 100 Courses' and 'The Golf Course Guide's Top 100 Golf Course' rankings. Cranbourne is now ranked at numbers 64 and 51 respectively, ahead of many better-known courses and favorably compared to Melbourne's elite sandbelt courses.
Five times British Open Champion Peter Thomson (AO) described Berriman as "an architect of rare talent" and his Cranbourne design as "a classic with this great course being worthy of any major tournament"
The 6,194-metre course, which hosted the Victorian Open in 2000 & 2001, can be played either walk or cart. There are practice facilities with a full-length fairway, nets, a large short-game area, and putting green. Additionally, the clubhouse offers food and beverage options and is available for functions.
