The par 72 golf course had its grand opening on July 3, 1966, with play officially beginning the very next day. The Green Valley Country Club at Clermont was designed by Roy Albert Anderson, a well-known Sarasota, Florida golf architect. Mr. Anderson was rated among the top ten golf designers in the country by the National Golf Foundation; he was assisted in the design of the layout by another popular architect, Lloyd M. Clifton.
Measuring 6,614-yards from the longest tees, the golf course offers a warm-up practice tee to all golfers playing the routing. A spacious driving range and putting green is accessible, as well as professional trainers who can help beginners or veterans to master their game.
