Longboat Key Club, Harborside Course was originally designed by Nai Chung Chang and Willard Byrd in 1981 through coastal terrain offering natural landscapes and numerous bodies of water. Later redesigned by Ron Garl in 2005 to achieve its current 4-star rating the Harborside Course has a total of 27-holes with three distinct nines, namely White Egret, Blue Heron, and Red Hawk.
Each of the 9-hole routings measures over 3,330 yards from its longest tees. Following a links-style design, the most difficult among the three layouts is White Egret with the highest slope and rating. Longboat Key Club is a golf resort which means anyone can come and play these well-maintained and challenging courses.
Much like those of their older brother, the Links on Longboat course, the greens and fairways are always in great condition on all three 9-hole layouts. The only difference is that while the greens of the Links course and the fairways of both are Bermuda grass, the greens of the Longboat Key Club, Harborside Course utilizes bent grass.
Longboat Key Golf Club has complete training facilities including a driving range, pitching, and chipping area, and a putting green. The club also has a Pro shop and offers golf clinics as part of its golf academy program with pro golfers as trainers and instructors. The clubhouse has a restaurant, a fitness center, and a spa, and there are tennis courts as well. Longboat Key Club also boasts a beautiful marina to take advantage of its beautiful waterfront setting.
