Monterey Golf Course is located in the city of Stuart, this 55+ golf community has its playground, a private 9-hole executive course. Unlimited golf is one of the perks of living in this active neighborhood.
A par 28 with a length of 1,024 yards measured from the longest tees, the 9-hole golf course was designed by P.B. Dye. The course opened in 1970 but the greens are well maintained and considered one of the best executive courses on the Treasure Coast.
The layout of the Monterey Golf Course threads its way around the complex with ponds placed strategically along the path. The fairways are narrow with water hazards affecting 6 of the 9 holes. There are three par 4s and the rest are par 3s with one dog leg. The greens are coated with Bermuda grass making the surface tricky for putting. It has a slope rating of 113 and a course rating of 69.4. Though it is a friendly course, it still manages to challenge golfers at every skill level.
For warm-up or instructions, the club has a practice area for driving, a pitching and chipping area, and a putting green. A teaching pro is also on hand. Rental services for clubs and carts are also available. The clubhouse offers food and beverage for refreshment.
