The Royal Hobart Golf Club is located at Seven Mile Beach, Tasmania. The 18 hole, par 72 championship course, is only 25-minutes from the CBD and five minutes from the airport.

The club was founded in 1916 and the Royal Charter was conferred in 1925. Royal Hobart is recognized as Tasmania's premier members Club and particular emphasis is placed on presenting the course in impeccable condition all year round.

Original course designer, Vernon Morcom, made the best use of the natural sand base to construct over 80-fairway and greenside bunkers. These are a special feature of the course that adds an important dimension to how players of all levels approach their game.

In 1997 a new course master plan was adopted to guide long-term course improvements and to ensure Royal Hobart continues to offer a challenging golfing experience for members and visitors alike. Subtle changes have since been introduced, but they have always conformed to the original design concept.

Royal Hobart has hosted a number of major Championship events over the years including the Qantas Australian Open in 1971, which was won by the legendary Jack Nicklaus, the 1990 Australian Ladies Championship and the 1991 Tasmanian Open. The course record of 64 is held by Jason Day, who took the record from Nicklaus.

Open to the public, this 6,174-metre walk or cart gem, is complete with a large putting green, chipping area, and two practice fairways to choose from. The member's clubhouse offers excellent bar and dining facilities and can cater to functions.
