A testament to the legacy of golf legend Arnold Palmer as well as to the golden age of golf course design, Shingle Creek Golf Club was “reinvented” in 2016 by the renowned Arnold Palmer Design Company led by Thad Layton. The original course was designed by David Harman when Shingle Creek Golf Club was founded in 2003. Today, the par 72 layout has elevated greens and strategically-placed bunkers surrounded by flora and fauna.
Shingle Creek’s green complexes with their fairway-cut surrounds and run-off areas now provide golfers of all skill levels more forgiveness and entertaining strategic options. This re-designed course may be challenging and advanced players will certainly find it more difficult from the longest tees, but for the diligent player it is definitely more rewarding and the average player will also find it more fun.
Along with swimming pools, tennis courts, and a volleyball court at the hotel, Shingle Creek Golf Club has state-of-the-art practice facilities for golfers that include a driving range, putting greens, a practice bunker, and chipping areas. Golf instruction is also available, along with golf carts with GPS, club and shoe rental, as well as club shipping.
Shingle Creek Golf Club also has two restaurants – Par-Take Café and Clubhouse Grille, as well as a scenic pavilion where golf event meals, breaks and even ceremonies can be held. Golf essentials are available at the golf shop operating from the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel. Although designed with hotel-grade appointments, these units exude a familiar and homey ambience.
