Located on the border of the 8,700-acre Brooker Creek Preserve, the Tarpon Woods Golf Club offers an 18-hole championship golf course originally designed by the well-known golf architect Lane Marshall. The layout is deemed by many as having one of the most scenic landscape views in Florida, with an abundance of wildlife including deer, gators, turkeys, coyotes, otters, and exotic birds.

Compared to the challenging layout of nearby Lansbrook Golf Club, Tarpon is more friendly to beginners and has well-designed front and back nines. The front nine is longer than the back nine, but both sides are covered with water to add challenge. Each hole has unique traits, making the routing perfect for those who like variety or are looking to try a new course in Florida.

The golf club has been a local favorite in Palm Harbor for over 30 years now, but the layout also underwent several adjustments and improvements in past decades. Until 2013, the routing was owned by Bobby Jacobsen, CEO of Safety Harbor-based Jacobsen Homes, and managed by the premier golf course management firm Hampton Golf Management.

Now, the layout is operated by one of the most recognizable names in the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), Jan Stephenson. The Australian retired golfer is also the first LPGA player to own a golf course design company.

Tarpon Woods Golf Club is open year-round and offers many amenities for its members and visiting players. The layout has expansive practice facilities, including a full driving range, pitching, and chipping area, putting greens, and a golf academy with access to teaching professionals for first-timers. The golf club has strict rules regarding clothing, so golfers must adhere to the required traditional golf attire, plus the routing provides rentals of carts and clubs. After the game, the golf course has a great clubhouse with a bar and restaurant inside, serving mouth-watering meals every day.
