The Boca Raton Municipal Golf Course is bordered by the Florida Turnpike to the east, Glades Road to the South, Lyons Road to the West, and Yamato Road to the North, the Municipal Golf Course is a popular public course destination in West Boca.
The Boca Raton Municipal Golf Course is situated in a 200-acre park property teeming with mature trees and winding lakes. It comprises two golf courses, an 18-hole championship course, and a 9-hole executive family course. Both were designed by Charles Ankrom and opened in 1982.
Both courses are set on rolling fairways with lakes, trees, and bunkers serving as obstacles. More than half of the holes have water hazards and all holes have bunkers positioned at the green side. The championship course has 5 tees to accommodate every skill level and has a length of 6,714 yards measured from the longest tees. It is a par 72 course and considered challenging for bogey players. The executive course has 3 sets of tees and only measures 1,877 yards in length. A par 30 course that can quickly be completed within 90 minutes by an advanced player.
The Municipal Golf Course also offers a practice facility that includes a driving range with ample spacing between hitting stations, a practice sand bunker, a pitching, and chipping area, and a putting green. A PGA professional is on-hand to offer private or group instructions to interested parties.
Other amenities offered include an air-conditioned clubhouse that serves snacks and beverages, rental services for clubs, pull carts, and buggies with GPS. The executive course allows walking anytime at the course.
As a public course, everyone is welcome to play but walk-ins are not permitted. Only online bookings are allowed and must be done a week ahead of schedule.
