Gulf Gate Executive Golf offers an 18-hole, par 57 executive style golf course that opened back in 1965. The course, which sat perfectly in the heart of Sarasota, Florida, underwent several curations throughout the years including a regular retouch and grooming of the fairways and greens.
Measuring a very walkable 2,579 yards from its longest tees, the former Gulf Gate Executive Golf course was quite small even for an executive-style routing, but what it may have lacked in length it made up for with a strong selection of practice facilities including a driving range, putting green, and pitching and chipping areas.
The highlight was the indoor practice area where players could conveniently practice driving and putting without having to deal with any inclement weather. The golf Pro shop also sold all types of golf equipment and accessories including souvenirs from Gulf Gate Executive Golf.
Available in all seasons, with well-maintained fairways and greens covered in Bermuda grass the Gulf Gate Executive Golf course remained ever popular with locals and its membership. The clubhouse with its in-house restaurant, bar, and diner was also always a popular spot with golfers as well as the surrounding community.
Unfortunately, Gulf Gate Executive Golf is currently closed.

The Gulf Gate Executive Golf neighborhood is a well-established community that is still very popular in South Sarasota. The neighborhood offers a wide selection of moderately priced detached single-family golf homes and a limited number of semi-detached golf villas.
The Gulf Gate Executive Golf community is highlighted by the tranquility it provides, and even minus the former golf course, there are still beautiful landscapes that act as scenic views for many of the neighborhood’s golf home residents. Gulf Gate is also clean and well-maintained, and it’s easy to tell that the neighborhood is active with a sense of community that is very much alive.
Gulf Gate Executive Golf has schools, hospitals, shopping centers, and restaurants nearby that make it a truly convenient community for residents both in terms of their day to day needs and their lifestyle wants. It is also just a few minutes away from Siesta Key and the many beach resorts and entertainment spots in the area.
